So one day, Tom decided to take Max on a trip, not to an expensive restaurant or an amusement park (游乐园). Instead, he chose the countryside. When they arrived at the village, everything felt different. The houses were simple, and there were few shopping malls or vehicles (车辆). But to Tom's surprise, Max had no problem fitting in. He quickly made friends with the children there. They played games and laughed together. He even talked with an old lady who kindly gave him some homemade snacks.
Two days later, it was time to leave. On the way back, Tom asked his son, "What do you think of life in the countryside?" The boy thought for a moment, and then said, "In the countryside, I could run freely in the fields and play with so many kids. The night sky is full of stars. I haven't seen that before in the city. And the people here can grow their own food." Max continued, "You know what, Dad? What touched me most was how everyone looks after each other. They share what they have and always help one another."
Tom smiled and asked, "But people here don't have much money, do they?" Max shook his head and said, "No, Dad. They may not be rich in money, but they're rich in happiness." Hearing this, Tom felt very proud (骄傲的) of his son.
